Privacy

In brief

This website simply delivers finished files. There is no database and there are no user accounts. An ordinary visit sets no cookies and transfers no data to third parties. We merely count page views — with software that runs on our own server and recognises nobody.

What happens when you open a page

The web server processes the connection data that is technically necessary (IP address, time, address requested, browser identifier). The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — the legitimate interest in secure operation. These logs are deleted after a short time and are not combined with other data.

Contact form

If you write to us using the form on the Contact page, you send us your email address, your message and, if you give it, your name. These details go to the board as an email and are used solely to answer your message. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR respectively.

To fend off automated bulk messages, your IP address is noted in the message and stored for one day in order to limit the number of requests per sender. We do not use a third-party picture puzzle for this — so here too your data reaches nobody but us. The form runs on our own server.

Your message stays in the board’s mailbox for as long as handling it requires.

Counting page views

To see which topics are being read, we count page views using Plausible Analytics. The software runs on our own server in Germany; the data does not leave it and is not passed on to anyone. The counting script, too, is delivered by this website itself, not by an outside service.

What is recorded: the page opened, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type and country. No cookies are set and nothing is stored on, or read from, your device. Your IP address is not stored — together with the browser identifier and a random value that changes daily it goes into a checksum from which the address cannot be recovered, and which becomes worthless after 24 hours. As a result visits cannot be followed across days and individuals cannot be recognised.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in learning which content is in demand. Consent under section 25 TDDDG is not required, because no information is stored on or retrieved from your device.

Fonts and images

All typefaces and images are delivered from our own server. No third-party font service is embedded; your IP address is therefore not passed on to anyone.

Content from other party organisations, and events

News from the federal party and the events from the calendar of the FDP Rhein-Neckar are fetched once, when the site is built, by our server, and stored as finished text. Visiting the site therefore creates no connection to fdp.de or to Google.

Posts from social networks

Some pages carry posts from Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. These are not loaded automatically. At first all you see is a placeholder of our own making. Only when you click “Show content” is the post fetched from the provider concerned — at which point your IP address and details of your browser are transferred to that provider, which may also process the data outside the European Union.

The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and section 25(1) TDDDG.

The providers are:

  • Instagram — Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., Dublin
  • TikTok — TikTok Technology Ltd., Dublin
  • YouTube — Google Ireland Ltd., Dublin

If you tick “always load in future” when showing a post, your browser remembers that decision locally. No cookie is set for this and nothing is transmitted to us — the entry does not leave your device.

On your first visit we ask once whether external content may be loaded as a matter of course. You can change that decision at any time, with effect for the future:

After withdrawal the placeholder reappears and nothing is loaded automatically any more. The lawfulness of processing carried out up to that point is unaffected.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The competent authority is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg).
